Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Expecting Fourth Child Via Surrogate
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting their fourth child via surrogate, multiple sources have confirmed to Us Weekly. The baby is reportedly due to arrive in "very early May," an insider told the outlet. However, the couple has not yet publicly commented on the news.
Kardashian, who welcomed daughter Chicago last January via surrogate, reportedly has only one embryo left and the sex is male, a source told Us Weekly last August. Kim and Kanye currently have three children: North, 5, Saint, 3, and Chicago, who turns 1 on January 15.
Kim previously shot down rumors that she and Kanye were planning for baby number four. "I don't know, I don't know, I read that, I read something...none of that was true," she told E! News in August 2018. "But I've been really open about it and talked about it on our show, so...I don't know."
Kim used a surrogate for her third child because she previously suffered from placenta accreta, a condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall, and it was therefore unsafe for her to get pregnant again naturally.
The identity of the surrogate who carried Chicago remains secret, but she did make a cameo on Keeping Up with the Kardashians last year. Her face was never shown, but her first name was revealed to be Lorena. "My surrogate is such a nice person, my family absolutely loves her and I'm so grateful," Kim said in the episode.
The reality star and beauty mogul announced Chicago's arrival last January with a sweet note on her blog. "Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl," she wrote. "We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister."
The Wests' fourth child will be the latest baby to join the Kardashian-Jenner family, following a string of young additions including Stormi Wesbster, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott's 11-month-old daughter, and True Thompson, Khloé Karashian and Tristan Thompson's eight-month-old daughter.
